Who We Are

FixUp Experts ("we," "us," "our") is a sole-proprietor carpentry and remodeling business operated by Nikolai Alekseev, based in Spring, Texas. We serve The Woodlands, Spring, Conroe, Montgomery, Tomball, Magnolia, and Humble. This Privacy Policy describes how we handle personal information collected through fixupexperts.com.

What We Collect

We collect the following categories of information when you interact with our website:

  • Contact information you submit — name, phone number, email address, project description, and your home or property address. This is provided voluntarily through our estimate request form, contact form, or by emailing or calling us directly.
  • Analytics data — pages you visit, time spent on each page, device type, browser, approximate location (city/state from IP address), and referring URL. This is collected automatically by Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity (heatmap/session-recording tool), both of which use cookies.
  • Photos and project details you share with us — if you send us photos of your project area by email or text, we store them only as long as needed to prepare and complete your estimate.

How We Use It

We use the information you provide solely to:

  • Respond to your estimate request, contact inquiry, or scheduled call
  • Prepare and deliver a written estimate or quote
  • Communicate with you about your project before, during, and after the work
  • Improve our website experience using aggregated, non-identifying analytics
  • Comply with legal obligations (tax records, lien waivers, contract documentation)

We do not sell your personal information. We do not rent, trade, or share it with marketing partners. We do not use your data to train AI models or build advertising profiles.

Who We Share It With

We share limited information only when necessary to operate our business:

  • Google (Analytics) — receives anonymous pageview and event data via the GA4 tag on our pages.
  • Microsoft (Clarity) — receives anonymized session interaction data (clicks, scrolls, mouse movement) for heatmap analysis.
  • Netlify — hosts our website and processes our contact form submissions on secure servers.
  • Subcontractors and suppliers — only when relevant to completing your specific project (e.g., a tile vendor delivering to your address).
  • Legal authorities — only if required by valid court order, subpoena, or law.

Your Rights Under Texas Law (TDPSA)

The Texas Data Privacy and Security Act gives Texas residents the following rights regarding personal data we hold about them:

  • Right to know — request a copy of the personal information we have about you
  • Right to correct — ask us to fix inaccurate information
  • Right to delete — ask us to delete information we collected from you (subject to legal retention requirements for completed projects)
  • Right to portability — request a copy of your data in a portable format
  • Right to opt out — opt out of any targeted advertising, sale of personal data, or profiling (we don't do any of these, but you have the right to confirm)

To exercise any of these rights, email us at alekseevn@fixupexperts.com with the subject line "Privacy Request." We respond within 45 days as required by TDPSA.

Cookies

Our website uses cookies for essential function (saving your preferences) and analytics (Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity). You can disable cookies through your browser settings — the site will continue to function, but some features may be limited. We do not use cookies for advertising or third-party retargeting.

Data Retention

We keep estimate request submissions for 12 months. Project records (contracts, invoices, photos) are kept for 7 years as required by Texas tax and lien law. Analytics data is retained for 14 months by Google, after which it is automatically deleted.

Children's Privacy

Our services are for property owners and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If a minor has submitted information, contact us to have it deleted.

Changes to This Policy

If we update this policy, the "Last updated" date at the top changes. Material changes (new types of data collection, new third-party recipients) will be announced via a notice on the homepage for 30 days.
